Dear Rebecca & Burns,
Two years ago I received several million dollars in a medical settlement. I have given a large amount to our church and invested much of it. I cannot work and this money has to cover my medical and living expenses for the rest of my life. My dilemma is this: my kids and family have not stopped asking for money. I said no to my son recently and he has threatened to forbid me to see my grandchildren. What should I do? It sounds like a lot of money, but as I said, it has to last the rest of my life.
PS - tell Big Joe he should be a counselor.

I was on my way to work when I heard this and forgot to listen until today. I'm going to play the devil's advocate here and give a very different opinion. This person said that they received serveral million dollars and gave a large amount to their church, very commendable, and also invested much of it. If they invested, then they should be getting a sizeable amount of income for that investment. All this to say, if it were me, I would have given all of my children a large amount of money when I got the settlement. It is God's money in the first place and with their generous heart, I would trust God to provide what I needed to live on. Now, I'm not in approval with the son's threat, but we also don't know what kind of financial struggles he is going through. I would give him the money and trust God. Just my opinion though.
