Dr. Kelly and Dr. Jolle discussed new articles this week. The first one discusses the use of non-core vaccines. There is quite a variation in coverage in the USA, and the article explains the possible why behind this. There are quite a lot of cats involved with this study! Another article discussed the student's attitudes toward working with cats. Dr. Jolle confesses his inaptitude with dealing with horses in general.

Dear College, I listened to you from Germany. My First contact with cats in veterinary medicine was willst a 2months externship at UT Knoxville during my last year at vet school in Berlin, at free university. Still there ist no instructions about handling cats what so ever at schools in Germany, so students tell me. My clinical life with my own practice, the last 30 years, have developped mainly into feline practice. Most women have a job and there s nobody home to take the dog vor a walk. I personally fell in love with fear free practice methode and I enjoy a team that constantly refines our methods, so it is a never ending process. We partielly apply fear free methods using my knowledge of phytotherapy and aromatherapy, studied this specialisation for almost 20 years qnd still progress in it with new science. It fascinates ist, how effectful examinations and treatments can be performed on cats with little rooms, effort and risk of harm for us. Thank you for mentioning a "core view" on leukemia vaccinations. I will review our vaccination programms wnd try to encorporate what you talked about . Unfortunately covering health programms are not allowed for vets in Germany but we learned well that it is up to us to promote good preventive methods. Especially since insurance programs are more complete now and since we recently had a rise in our fees ( a spectrum catalogue that undergoes government approval) animal owners more voluntarily voluntarily opt for an insurance. Happy to have discovered the Podcast while searching for Dr Susan Little's book " Cat Medicine" . I will be a follower and commentator😍
