I had really everything I wanted in life but didn't realize what was wrong with it and how easily it can all go up in flames. In just a year, I lost it all and went from being a husband, dad, and chief officer to divorced, broke, and a janitor. I found out just how much of myself was in the identity I lost and all the resilience I learned in dealing with others' problems was small in comparison to dealing with my own suffering and shame.
