Acts 1:9-11 does not occur in a vaccuum. There are texts in Matthew 24:30-34 and Matthew 26:64 that provide the contextual information to understand this coming.Neither should the text be separated from the work of Christ in the temple as typified by the High Priest of the Levitical order.
