In the past, credit analysts have mostly focused on how climate change influences entire industries, with an emphasis on carbon producing and emitting sectors. New analytical tools—including S&P Global’s Climate Credit Analytics—enable us to develop more granular data about individual companies’ drivers and behavior with respect to climate change and a better understanding of how these factors impact their creditworthiness.
