Hey there, beachgoers! Welcome back to your go-to surf zone forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in Charleston, SC. Today is Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, and we've got some gnarly updates for you!

For all you surfers hitting up Charleston, you'll be looking at a moderate risk for rip currents throughout the day. Surf height is ranging from 3 to 5 feet, so plenty of waves to catch! The UV index is moderate, with water temperatures in the mid 70s. Expect cloudy skies with showers and a chance of thunderstorms. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s, with south winds cruising at 10 to 15 mph. And don't forget to check out the tides at Isle of Palms!

Moving onto Wednesday, the rip current risk drops to low, with surf heights of 3 to 4 feet. Weather will be partly sunny in the morning, gradually turning mostly sunny. Keep an eye out for some possible showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures around 80 degrees. Winds from the southwest will be blowing around 15 mph. Time to catch those mid-week waves!

Looking ahead to the extended forecast - Thursday calls for sunny skies with surf heights of 2 to 3 feet. Highs around 80 with northwest winds at 10 mph. Friday and Saturday bring more waves with surf heights of 2 to 3 feet, some sun mixed with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs around 80 and southwest winds around 15 mph on Saturday.

If you're heading to Beaufort, Coastal Colleton, or Coastal Jasper, expect similar conditions with slightly lower surf heights and temperatures in the lower 70s. The rip current risk remains moderate today.
