Cambridge is the first to pass a town law that protects bike lanes from being interfered with when it comes to reconstructing road ways within the town. The "Cycling Safety Ordinance" requires the city to add permanent separate bike lanes on the roadways when doing reconstruction. Are we surprised that Cambridge was the first to do this? Not really...is it outrageous or warranted? We discuss.
