There was no opposition at the last Bryan city council meeting to the first changes in animal control regulations in ten years.

No date has been set for when the council will take final action.

Environmental services director Eric Zaragoza says for those taking care of feral cats, nuisance complaints from multiple people will result in moving those cat colonies.

Proposed changes also includes clarifying the definition of animal cruelty as a guide for animal control officers.

Another proposal, banning roosters inside Bryan city limits, follows noise complaints.

Zaragoza says public input contributed to allowing what he called "mini pigs", those weighing up to 200 pounds.

Bryan's proposal would also adopt some of the regulations in College Station, including a ban on having animals in the beds of pickup trucks.
