In this episode we continue studying the book of Revelation. We note that an angel took a censer filled with incense and the prayers of those slain for their faith and cast it to the ground.

The souls under the altar cried out for vengeance saying,How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

In our current chapter God answers those prayers. He will avenge their blood all at once in the last days upon the last generation.

Jesus said this would happen in Luke chapter 11verse 51.  From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

In the Old Testament there was someone called the avenger of blood. This role belonged to a kinsman that is a relative of someone who was murdered. This person took responsibility for killing the person who killed a relative. (Deuteronomy 19:12). Jesus the lamb of God is the Avenger of blood, the kinsman redeemer for the Saints of the Most High God. He will avenge the blood of those killed for his name sake.

We conclude with the words of an angel crying out "Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound."

The word woe means grief. So in essence the angel says, grief, grief, grief will come upon the inhabiters of the earth.

At some point God will pour out his wrath upon earth. In Luke 21:36  Jesus said, "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."

May we all heed the voice of Jesus the Christ, the Son of man.
