In this episode Moses is told to make two silver trumpets.

The priests will blow the trumpets to summon the 12 princes to come to the tabernacle to meet with Moses or to summon the people to gather before the door of the tabernacle.

They will also blow the trumpets, before they resume their journey toward the promised land.

And the priest would blow the trumpets to celebrate happy occasions, in their solemn feast days, and over their burnt and peace offerings.

Blowing the trumpets over the sacrifices, was a prophetic act, that pointed to the atoning work of Jesus the Christ.

He would atone for the sins of the world, and create everlasting peace between God and man.

He would bring peace on earth and good will toward men. This they would joyously celebrate.

Because of his death a new creation would spring forth.

A new man would come out of the dust of the earth.

With the resurrection of Jesus the Christ, God’s second act of creation began.

For a second time, He would bring light into a dark world.

For a second time, He will form a man and give him his commandments, but this man will keep his commandments. He will obey all of God’s laws, he will never sin. He will not be beguiled by the serpent or the voice of a woman.

For this He will be given dominion over the earth and He will make all things new. Under his dominion, the world’s systems, its standards, and values would change. The nature, the hearts and minds of people will be made new.

Jesus will give new life to whoever consents to his Lordship.

An angel once told the apostles to go stand in the temple and preach to the people all the words of “this life.”

Here's the text:

Acts 5:19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

Acts 5:20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

And it would be because of "this life" Paul said, he counted his position and the wealth he accumulated as a notable Pharisee as dung.

The only thing he found notable or worthy of accumulation was the knowledge of Christ. He would glory in nothing but the cross of his Messiah.

Because of the new life that comes only from Christ, Paul lived like a soldier, buffeting his body, subduing it. So he could earn the crown of eternal life.

Here's the text:

Philippians 3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.

AND

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Galatians 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

Before the people resumed their journey toward the promised land. Hobab Moses’ father in law, decided to go back to Midian.

But Moses encouraged him to stay with them. So he could be eyes unto them. He reminded Hobab that God promised to do good to the Israelites and whatever good they received of the Lord, they would share with him.

If we decide to follow Christ, to the promised land and be eyes unto Him, as we travel along the way, He will share with us the good God has given to Him.

He can use our eyes, to help him do his Father’s business on earth, and that is to establish God's kingdom on the earth, consisting of adding souls to it by spreading the gospel.

The command has gone forth, the kingdom of God will overtake the kingdom of darkness.

Though the kingdom of darkness mingled with the sons of men, the kingdom they build will not last. It will be destroyed this is noted in the book of Daniel.

Here’s the text:

Daniel 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Daniel 2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

We note that Jesus said if we help his servants we will receive a reward. This too is a part of establishing God’s kingdom on earth, and will be rewarded.

Matthew 10:40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Matthew 10:41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

Matthew 10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
