In this episode we continue studying the Book of Leviticus. In this episode the Lord gave Moses additional laws regarding the trespass offering.

This offering was for those who sinned against their neighbor by stealing or obtaining their property by lying or violence.

The person had to make an offering and make restitution for their sin. And we are told that the sin or the trespass was against the Lord.

We note that Joseph refused to sleep with Potiphar's wife, saying “How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God.”

Everything we do whether good or bad we do unto the Lord. Jesus said, if we feed the hungry, visit the sick and clothe the poor we do it to him.

We note that although a person sinned against their neighbor they also sinned against god, BUT if they brought a trespass offering, God forgave them.

Whatever they did, if they confessed their sin, and brought an offering they were forgiven. And it’s important to note, they had to make restitution to the person they sinned against. BUT the end of the matter is, they were forgiven and restored into a right relationship with God.

If God forgives them and we don’t we are exalting ourselves above the word of God and are in error.

Jesus said, if we refuse to forgive others, when they sin against us, God will not forgive our sins or trespasses.

He noted this in the Lord’s prayer in Matthew chapter 6, starting at verse 7.

Here's the text:

Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Matthew 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Matthew 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Jesus died on the cross so we can be reconciled to God. He left his throne in heaven to come to the earth, to live and die for us.

He left all the beauty of heaven for us. The place were gold is so plentiful they pave the streets with it and the wall of the city is embedded with sapphires, emeralds and jasper and other fine stones.

He had angels and elders falling down at his feet, worshipping him.

He had, millions of angels standing by ready to hearken to the words that proceeded out of His mouth.

Yet, he left it all for 33 years to come and save the people who were lost and destitute, enslaved to an evil task master, oppressed and harassed by unclean thoughts and imaginations, often forced and compelled to do evil because they had unknowingly intermingled with devils and had become subject to them.

They were dead in sins and trespasses, and only he had the power to save them because only He had the power of life.

So, because they were his most valuable treasure, he would do, what he had to do to rescue them, even if he had to die, to do it.

For his work on the cross we are forever indebted and grateful to Him.

Paul reminds to be thankful that Christ delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.

Here's the text:

Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Colossians 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Colossians 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

Colossians 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Colossians 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister
