In this episode we continue studying the book of Leviticus. In this episode God reviews some of the laws regarding sexual relationships.

A few additions were made to the law concerning copulation with animals. In chapter 18 a woman was forbidden to have sex with an animal.

Now the man is forbidden to have sex with an animal and both the man and the animal or the woman and the animal were to be put to death.

And if a man committed adultery with his neighbors wife they were put to death.

Wizards and those with familiar spirits were stoned to death.

If a man took his child, and sacrificed him or her to Molech, he was stoned to death. The people of the land stoned him with stones.

The whole community was held accountable for this sin. If they failed to stone him, God would set his face against him, his family and the entire land.

He would hold everyone in the land responsible for letting child sacrifice spread throughout the land.

When God set his face against someone, it meant he was no longer committed to doing good to them and blessing them, he was now committed to doing evil to them and cursing them.

As seen in Jeremiah chapter 21 verse 10. Here's the text:

Jeremiah 21:10 For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

Jeremiah chapter 52 verses 12 through 15 says, king Nebuchadnezzar burned down Jerusalem. He even burned down, the house of the Lord, the kings house, and all the houses of the great men.

In Jeremiah chapter 44 verse 11, God set his face against His people to cut them off.

King Nebuchadnezzar killed many and exiled many.

They were cut off from the land because of child sacrifice, they were sacrificing their seed to Molech.

Here’s the text:

Jeremiah 32:34 But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.

Jeremiah 32:35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

God’s people were killing their children so He had to punish them for breaking the laws he had given them through His servant Moses.

We note that this commandments was given to the children of Israel. The one’s God set free from Pharaoh’s bondage.

God didn’t send Moses to go speak to the Canaanites to tell them not to serve Molech, He didn’t send him to the Moabites, or the Ammonites to tell them to stop sacrificing their children to Molech.

Moses was talking to God's people, those who were called by his name, those who worshipped him in his sanctuary.

His children were not supposed to give their children to Molech.

Other people were doing it, because they knew not the Lord so, of course they would do it. The god of this world had blinded their eyes so they could not see the truth.

But God had set them free from the god of this world and his earthly seed who was the king of Egypt.

Their eyes were now open, now they knew the truth this practice was evil and an abomination in God’s eyes.

Pharaoh was no longer their king. He was their king now and they were to obey Him.

We note that Moses is gone now, and Jesus is our Saviour, He is our Deliverer, He is our leader.

And He has delivered us from the god of this world. We know the truth now. We know that God's written word is truth.

Jesus is the Living Word, He is the head of the church. And He said, man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

This is the same Jesus who said, If you love me keep my commandments.

If we love God, if we love Jesus, we will obey God’s laws, we will obey his commandments. We will not give our seed to the gods of the land.
