In this episode we continue studying the book of Leviticus. In this episode God gave Moses laws for the place of sacrifice.

The people were told that if they killed an animal out in the field and not bring it to the door of the tabernacle they would be “cut off.”

To “cut off” means to be killed. They would be killed or cut off because it would be assumed they killed and sacrificed the animal to worship devils.

The people were told not to sacrifice to devils. They would be tempted to worship devils because they believed devils were gods and had power to harm them. So they offered sacrifices to appease them.

But God warned the people against offerings sacrifices to worship devils or false gods because they could do them no harm nor could they bless them as noted in Jeremiah chapter 10 verse 5.

Here's the text:

Jeremiah 10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

The people were also told not to drink blood. Because blood was given to make atonement for their soul, life was in the blood.

In the Old Testament people were told not to drink blood. Yet, Jesus says in the New Tesament, "Eat my flesh and drink my blood."

Forbidden in the old but allowed in the new because the old pointed to the new. The blood of oxen and lambs couldn'g give life to man but the blood of Jesus could give man life, eternal.

Only the blood of Jesus is capable of giving life. So God did not want His people thinking drinking the blood of animals could give them life. Because it’s been appointed unto men once to die. as noted in Hebrews chapter 9 verses 27 and 28.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Because of sin man and beast had become subject to death, there was or is no life in their blood. For this cause God did not use the seed of man to bring the Messiah into the world. The virgin Mary would bring forth a child by the Power of the Holy Spirit, because death was in man’s blood and in the blood of animals.

Paul tells us in Romans chapter 8 verse 22, that the whole creation groans and travails because of the curse of death. And Christ’s death redeemed all of God’s creation from the power of death. Because the creature was made subject to vanity not willingly.

We are all God’s creatures and were made subject to death unwillingly but Christ the Messiah would deliver the entire creation from death. When Christ returns, all things will be made new. And animals will no longer eat each other for food.

Things will be like they were in the Garden of Eden, no blood was shed for food by man or beast.

We look forward to the day Isaiah mentioned in Isaiah chapter 65 verse 25. He said “The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.”

This is the grand occasion Jesus is excitedly waiting to bring to pass. He’s waiting on that great day, when he will be united with all the souls God gave him in a restored world. When the peace of God shall abide in man and beast.

On the night of the last supper Jesus told the disciples, He would shed his blood for many, meaning he would make atonement for the souls of those willing to believe in Him.

Then they drank wine and He said He would not drink wine agian, until he drank it with them in the kingdom of God.

When all of God’s redeemed will be gathered together, after the great war between good and evil, right and wrong is over. Mark chapter 14 verses 22 through 25 says:

Mark 14:22 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.

Mark 14:23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.

Mark 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

Mark 14:25 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
