In this episode we continue studying the book of Leviticus. In this episode, laws regarding the Day of Atonement are given.

Sacrifices were made on the Day of Atonement. And two scapegoats were brought to Aaron. One was slain and the other released in the wilderness by a “fit” man.

We are told that Aaron placed his hands on the head of the second goat, while confessing Israels sins over it and a “fit” man took the goat into the wilderness.

We note that the fit man was Jesus and the goat was the evil one. And Aaron is seen placing the sins of the people back on the head of the one from whence they came.

After Eve sinned, she told God, the serpent beguiled me. Eve had been tricked, she had been deceived and deluded into eating the fruit.

Satan knew what would happen but she didn’t. She and Adam really didn’t know what death was. They didn’t know what evil was until Cain killed Abel. They didn't know what they were doing.

The serpent told them they would know good and evil. They didn’t realize to know good and evil meant to experience it.

And there was nothing they could do to control death, it snuck in unawares.

But God would have compassion on them and in great grace and mercy would send forth a fit man, a deliverer to, deliver them from their fatal error.

They had become partakers of death and Jesus was willing to die to give them the Holy Spirit of God, which is the spirit of life that nullifies the power of death.

We note that when god created Adam and Eve they were living souls and were given a choice to eat from the tree of life or the tree of knowledge of good and evil, both were in midst of the garden. The trees could have been next to each other.

But Eve wanted to know “stuff” so she did not eat from the tree of life. And after they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they were escorted out of the garden.

And Genesis chapter 2 verse 8 says, the Lord planted a garden eastward Eden.

And in this chapter Aaron is told to sprinkle the blood of the bullock upon the mercy seat eastward seven times.

With the scapegoat and the sprinkling of blood and the “fit” Man. We see that God is telling His people He was making a way for them to reinherit paradise.

Jesus mentioned paradise in Revelation chapter 2 verse 7.

Here's the text:

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Jesus also, told the thief on the cross in Luke chapter 23 verse 43, “verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” One thief went to paradise, to eat from the tree of life, and the other, the one who mocked Christ went to the place prepared for the devil and his Angels.

We note that Strong’s says eastward means front, before, of time antiquity, old, past, eternal, everlasting.

This points to the fact that the blood of Jesus, would be retroactive. It would be effective for all eternity. His death would cover the sins of all mankind, past, present and future.

Every child of God, All of Adam and Eve’s descendants would have the chance to eat from the tree of life and live in paradise, a world where there is no death, pain, or trouble.

God knows how and why man sinned. He knows they were tricked and deceived. And sin was embedded in their DNA but if the people partook of the body of Christ this could change.

Christ's nature would become their nature and their flesh would one day become like his flesh.

Some will not want to partake of Christ’s nature. Because they prefer to do evil like their father. But Jesus said, whosoever, is willing to come to him and be reconciled to God, paradise awaits them.

The death of Christ would be a curious work, one we did not deserve.

And Paul reminds us about this in Colossians chapter 1. He said, we were once alienated from God, and were his enemies because we did not want to obey him.

We had become partakers of Satan’s nature. He was the first sinner and we were yoked to him so we had no desire to obey God.

So He reminds us about the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus, and he encourages us to continue in the faith and not to be moved from the hope of the gospel, which is eternal life in the kingdom of God’s Son.

Here’s the text:

Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Colossians 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Colossians 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

Colossians 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Colossians 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
