In this episode we continue studying the Book of Leviticus. In this episode, laws regarding purification after childbirth are given.

After giving birth to a child, a woman was rendered unclean and could not enter into the sanctuary.

The woman is said to be unclean due to her issue of blood. God told Moses the woman needed to make atonement for her uncleanness.

He said, after atonement was made she would be cleansed from the issue or the shedding of her blood. By giving birth she was issuing or shedding blood, her own blood.

We note that by partaking of the tree of life, Eve was responsible for her own death, she was responsible for shedding her own blood and the blood of her children.

She ate from the tree first, then she led her husband to eat and sin entered into the world and death by sin.

She would give birth to daughters, and their mothers sin, would forever be before them, they would be reminded of Eve’s sin every month for a season of their life.

They would also issue their own blood during childbirth.

We note that God gave the woman an “issue” because he wanted her to be reminded of her sin, NOT for guilt but to remind her to look forward to the promised Messiah.

He wanted her to remember that He promised to bless her with a man child who would crush the serpents head.

Her promised seed would make atonement for her sin by dying for her and her descendants, this would deliver them from the power of death.

Once again they could live and not die.

Once again they would have access to the tree of life that’s in the midst of paradise.

God wants all of his daughters to know that Jesus has died for their sins and now they can go and live in peace.

This He revealed when He healed a woman who had an "issue" of blood for 12 years.

Luke 8:43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

Luke 8:44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

Luke 8:45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Luke 8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

Luke 8:47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

Luke 8:48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

Luke 8:49 While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

Luke 8:50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
