In this episode we continue studying the Book of Genesis. In this episode God made a covenant with Noah and the future generations of man. He ratifies the covenant with the sign of the rainbow.

God said, in Genesis chapter 9 verses 11 through 13.

Genesis And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

Genesis 9:12  And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

Genesis 9:13  I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

Token means, in the sense of appearing, a signal as a flag, beacon, monument, evidence, mark, miracle, sign, token.

God also said, when He sees the rainbow he will be reminded of the covenant He made with mankind

Genesis 9:14  And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

Genesis 9:15  And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Perhaps that’s why there is a rainbow around the throne in heaven.

Revelation 4:3  And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

Although the imaginations of man are continually evil from his youth, the covenant God made with mankind is an everlasting covenant. It will endure unto the end of the ages.

We also note the sin committed against Noah when he was uncovered in his tent. The question is, did he accidentally uncover himself or was he uncovered by someone?

The text said he "was uncovered." We note that Moses excluded some of the shameful details out of respect for Noah.

The account of Noah's uncovering, concluded with him cursing Canaan. The one who founded the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Genesis 10:19  And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

Genesis 10:20  These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
