In this episode we continue studying the book of Genesis. In this episode we note that Adam and Eve were naked before they ate the fruit but they were not ashamed. They weren’t blind before they ate from the tree, something happened when their eyes were opened that caused them to see evil in what they once saw was good.

Their surroundings hadn’t changed but who they were yoked to had changed.

They were now yoked to the devil a fallen spirit, who are called gods. The word God means a ruler or judge one possessing authority. The AHLB says, "the pictograph for god is a picture of an ox head and also represents its strength and the picture of a shepherd’s staff and represents the authority of the shepherd. Combined these two pictographs mean "the strong authority" and can be anyone or thing of strong authority".

"The yoke is understood as a "staff on the shoulders" as noted in Isaiah 9:4 in order to harness their power for pulling loads such as a wagon or plow. Often two oxen were yoked together. An older, more experienced ox would be teamed up with a younger, less experienced ox. The older ox in the yoke is the "strong authority" who, through the yoke, teaches the younger."

So Satan was the strong authority they were now yoked with.

By heeding the serpents words, by believing what he said, instead of believing what God said, they had switched yokes. At first they were yoked to the one who is good. The one who created them and gave them the world to live in and the power and authority to rule over everything he made.

So since they had listened to the voice of the serpent, instead of God’s voice, they were yoked to Satan and he now had authority over their perception. He would now pervert their vision. They would see good things as evil and evil things as good, He would whisper perverse things in their ears, they would call wrong right and right wrong.

Yet, there is good news, Jesus the Christ broke Satan's yoke off of us and says:
in, Matthew chapter 11 verses 28 through 30.

Matthew 11:28  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:29  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Matthew 11:30  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

This was demonstrated in what God did for the children of Israel when he delivered them from Pharaoh a type and shadow of Satan. God said, in Leviticus chapter 26 verse 13.

Leviticus 26:13  I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.

God broke Pharaoh’s yoke off the children of Israel and through Jesus the Christ, He has broken Satan’s yoke of bondage to sin and death over our lives.
