In this episode we continue studying the Book of Exodus. In this episode the Israelites, need water and their thirst compels them to murmur and complain against Moses, again.

But this time they take their murmuring and complaining to another level.

Moses said, the people were “chiding” with him. The BDB says to chide means to strive physically with words, to make complaint, to quarrel, to contend against.

When Moses told the Lord about it, he said the people were ready to stone him. Because they said, “He brought them out of Egypt to kill them, their children and their cattle.

”They even asked Moses, If the Lord was with them or not?”

What they were really wanted, was a trouble free life.

Somehow we believe, if the Lord is with us we shouldn’t have any problems, life should be trouble free.

Everything should be perfect, everything should run smoothly, if he is with us.

But life is not that way. God proves He is with us by aiding us with our problems not by always preventing us from having problems.

The Israelites, are thirsty, they need water and God will prove He is with them once again, by giving them water.

We note that, the Israelites thirstiness reveals a spiritual truth, about the living water of Christ.

Christ said in John chapter 7 verses 37 and 38, “If any man thirst let him come to me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

It's the “Living Water” of the Holy Spirit that goes deep down into the belly, the seat of the soul, the seat of our mental faculties, that heals our mind, will and emotions.

The Holy Spirit will heal our broken, wounded and defiled hearts. Then we will focus on the good instead of the evil in people and in the world. We can be thankful people, a people with hope and faith in their "Almighty God."

The Israelites unseemly behavior toward God and Moses, is an inner look into the condition of the hearts and minds of all "unregenerated" people on earth. We must all take off the yoke of Satan’s bondage and put on the Yoke of Christ so we can find rest for our souls.

When we are yoked with Christ, we will be delivered, from murmuring, complaining, chiding, and striving even when life isn’t perfect. Jesus beckons us to come unto Him for his yoke is easy.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
