Bonus episode! In observance of National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, we’re joined by Amy Ashcraft and Katie Papke, the co-leads for VA’s National Human Trafficking Prevention and Education Committee. Our guests talk about what human trafficking is, why Veterans experiencing homelessness may be at greater risk of being trafficked, and what VA is doing about it.

Veterans who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness are strongly encouraged to contact the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans at (877) 4AID-VET (877-424-3838) for assistance.

What can a female Vet do if they were forced to use a highly addictive drug by their ex military spouse when the police did nothing? How does one escape safely so they can rebuild their lives without worrying about being hurt or exploited? I went years without knowing I was being trafficked but the horrors I’ve experienced, I could never fathom people going through. His control has kept me homeless easily, medical issues from stress and robbed constantly so I never get back on my feet and have a chance to get back to our daughters. Any information would be most helpful, thank you.
