PayPal and Visa are chasing bets across the crypto industry as partners in Blockchain Capital’s fifth venture fund, a $300 million war chest. The fight for clean energy–powered bitcoin and cryptocurrency mining moved forward Tuesday as Stronghold Digital Mining, a digital asset miner powered by alternative energy, announced a $105 million funding round. Chinese bitcoin miner BIT Mining delivered its first batch of 320 machines to Kazakhstan after its operations in the Chinese province of Sichuan were suspended. Bank of America analyst on Bloomberg says "Bitcoin is creating a new ecosystem for value transfer...This is real economic activity." The SEC announces intention to file, on Thursday, June 24, 2021, a letter motion to quash a deposition subpoena served by Ripple on a former SEC official which could be Jay Clayton or William Hinman.
