Missouri Congresswoman Cori Bush set Twitter ablaze this week when she posted a video of her testimony before the Democratic Oversight Committee about America's Black maternal health crisis in which she used the term "birthing person" as one way to describe a pregnant individual. Bush is just one advocate part of a bigger growing movement that aims to use gender neutral language when talking about pregnancy. Should we stop using female terms such as “mother” for a more “gender neutral” term?
