Once the richest economy in South America, Venezuela has with frightening rapidity become chaotic and impoverished. And as Hank claims, this could be our fate as well if someone like U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were to become President of the United States. In the short amount of time since Nicolás Maduro’s replacement of Hugo Chávez as President of Venezuela, the richest economy in South America has—through socialist revolution—become utter chaos.
