Week 3: day 5
BE WHOLE

Philippians 4:6-9

Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will calm you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry from the center of your life.
Summing it up, friends, you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

Friend, there was a time I took pride in being an analyser. I could analyse for Africa: events that already happened and events yet to take place. For me, until it made sense on paper, I wouldn't move which led me to worrying and unnecessary anxiety.

There's nothing wrong with being an analyser but when you let planning take the place of doing, you become your own enemy. My sister says thinking of working out only works out when you actually work out.

Worrying displaces Christ from the center of your life. It reveals a lack of trust and a desire to be the one in control. The problem with that is you don't have the power by yourself.

How do you stop worrying? Simple! Accept His Authority by laying your cares at His feet and leaving it there. Yes, Leave it there because when you don't, you are not praying, you are just complaining.

During prayer, He gives you rest by granting you comfort in words, acceptance or instructions amongst other things: He gives you His peace.

Let me tell you a bit about God's wholeness; He first calms the storm in you before calming the storm outside. It is a fullness that can't be explained because more often than not, it doesn't make sense to us.

There is a contentment that comes with this wholeness and an elegance of kingship. It really doesn't make sense to the world that to be in control, we submit our control to Him: how do you explain that to be a true king, you willingly grant the ruling of your kingdom to the King of kings.

For His wholeness to fill you, make a choice to fill your thoughts with His Truth. The world says, what you think eventually becomes who you are - The Word says what you think is who you are.

"As a man thinketh in His heart, so He is"

You are the first man to know who you have been. Just inspect your thoughts and if you don't like what you see, if it doesn't relay who God says you are, change it!

What do you think on? What do you meditate on? Are you tired, weary and torn from your thoughts? Have you been worrying?

Go to His Throne of Grace and lay yourself down, let Him take charge, for only Him can change the hearts of kings and calm the storms within and without.

I pray today that you become whole as Christ displaces worry from your life in Jesus name, amen.
