On this week's program, host Phil Tower welcomes
Dennis Vankampen, President and CEO, of Mel Trotter Ministries. Dennis joined us to discuss Mel Trotter's biggest fundraising event of the year…Mel Trotter Ministries Annual Gala to Focus on Hope in Action. This year's event happens Thursday, October 5 at the JW Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids. Dennis also spoke extensively about Mel Trotter's mission and he reminded our listeners that they exist to demonstrate the compassion of Jesus Christ toward anyone experiencing hunger and homelessness.
On the second half of the program this week Phil Tower welcomed
Dave Kinney, contributor and author with Hagerty Media. Dave is an expert on automotive appraisals and a regular contributor to many great stories published by Hagerty Media. Dave covers everything related to cars including news, reviews, buying, selling, maintenance, market trends, and more. Dave shared with us the little-known story of Jimmy Buffett, the classic car guy. Many have written about Jimmy Buffett since his passing in early September of this year, but only a few folks knew about Jimmy's love for cars, and his national search for a car that was very special to him as a high schooler, a 1963 Ford Falcon Sprint Convertible. Our listeners will hear Dave tell this amazing story about Jimmy Buffett, the storyteller and classic car lover.
