KPRC recently asked Lisa W. Miller to come on the air in Houston, TX to discuss the current state of consumer behavior in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lisa W. Miller noted that despite the pandemic's ongoing presence, demand for in-person experiences is still strong. Her consumer research shows 30% of Americans remain concerned about COVID-19, but half of Americans have resumed their normal activities. Miller believes there is still a large pent-up demand for businesses to capture, which presents opportunities for companies that can deliver positive experiences that get people out and about again. Inflation and recession are concerning topics, but she says demand is high on the consumer level because people are looking for joy in their lives again after three years of enduring the pandemic. She concluded that time is a valuable commodity and that what people pay for the experience is what makes it worth it. The update shows that while there is still anxiety about COVID-19, people are beginning to resume their normal activities, and there are positive changes brought about by the pandemic.
