🎧Agosto 25: No sigas el camino de Caín

📖 Judas 1:11‭-‬25 RVA2015:
¡Ay de ellos! Porque han seguido el camino de Caín; por recompensa se lanzaron en el error de Balaam y perecieron en la insurrección de Coré. Estos que participan en las comidas fraternales de ustedes son manchas, apacentándose a sí mismos sin temor alguno. Son nubes sin agua llevadas de acá para allá por los vientos. Son árboles marchitos como en otoño, sin fruto, dos veces muertos y desarraigados. Son fieras olas del mar que arrojan la espuma de sus propias abominaciones. Son estrellas errantes para las cuales está reservada para siempre la profunda oscuridad de las tinieblas. Acerca de los mismos también profetizó Enoc, séptimo después de Adán, diciendo: “He aquí, el Señor vino entre sus santos millares para hacer juicio contra todos y declarar convicta a toda persona respecto a todas sus obras de impiedad que ellos han hecho impíamente, y respecto a todas las duras palabras que los pecadores impíos han hablado contra él”. Estos se quejan de todo y todo lo critican, andando según sus propios malos deseos. Su boca habla arrogancias, adulando a las personas para sacar provecho. Pero ustedes, amados, acuérdense de las palabras que antes han sido dichas por los apóstoles de nuestro Señor Jesucristo; porque ellos les decían: “En los últimos tiempos habrá burladores que andarán según sus propias pasiones, como impíos que son”. Estos son los que causan divisiones. Son sensuales y no tienen al Espíritu. Pero ustedes, oh amados, edificándose sobre la santísima fe de ustedes y orando en el Espíritu Santo, consérvense en el amor de Dios, aguardando con esperanza la misericordia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo para vida eterna. De algunos que vacilan tengan misericordia; a otros hagan salvos arrebatándolos del fuego; y a otros ténganles misericordia, pero con cautela, odiando hasta la ropa contaminada por su carne. Y a aquel que es poderoso para guardarlos sin caída y para presentarlos irreprensibles delante de su gloria con grande alegría; al único Dios, nuestro Salvador por medio de Jesucristo nuestro Señor, sea la gloria, la majestad, el dominio y la autoridad desde antes de todos los siglos, ahora y por todos los siglos. Amén.

Al parecer el autor, Judas, era el hermano de Jesús junto con Santiago. Otros piensan que era uno de los 12 apóstoles. Lo que sí se puede demostrar es la posición vital de liderazgo del autor entre las iglesias.

Esta es una carta muy corta porque fue enviada con mucha urgencia. Claramente vemos al autor indignado por la situación que estaban sufriendo algunas iglesias con personas que se estaban infiltrando en las congregaciones de forma sutil, engañando a los hermanos para infiltrar estilos de vida que no son de un cristiano. Prácticas desordenadas donde el sensualismo y una vida promiscua se estaba imponiendo en las congregaciones. Ellos también utilizaban la manipulación, haciéndose pasar como personas espirituales que recibían revelaciones por sueños y adulaban a los creyentes para aprovecharse de ellos. Al final, causaban divisiones, destruyendo a las iglesias.

Nosotros tenemos que hacerle frente a cualquier persona que quiera dividir nuestros hogares, queriendo degradar el evangelio de una vida santa y pura a una vida desordenada, donde los principios bíblicos no son valorados, en la que simplemente se quiere vivir vidas como un club social donde todo es diversión pero no hay sujeción al Espíritu de Dios y transformación del alma.
Recuerda que sí podemos ser luz en medio de la oscuridad y hacer la diferencia en un mundo lleno de maldad.

Para concluir quiero recordarte la poderosa declaración de Judas cuando dice que Dios es el que nos guardará sin caída. Muy similar a la que Pablo dice que Dios nos dará juntamente con la tentación la salida para que podamos soportar. También va de acuerdo con la declaración de Juan que dice que aquel que hace lo malo, no ha visto a Dios.

August 25: Don't follow the path of Cain

Judas 1:11-25:
Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power,
both now and forever. Amen.


Apparently the author, Judas, was the brother of Jesus along with James. Others think that he was one of the 12 apostles. What can be demonstrated is the author's vital leadership position among the churches.

This is a very short letter because it was sent with great urgency. Clearly we see the author outraged by the situation that some churches were suffering with people who were infiltrating the congregations in a subtle way, deceiving the brothers to infiltrate lifestyles that are not of a Christian. Disorderly practices where sensualism and a promiscuous life were imposing in the congregations. They also used manipulation, posing as spiritual people who received revelations through dreams and they flattered the believers to take advantage of them. In the end, they caused divisions, destroying the churches.

We have to face anyone who wants to divide our homes, wanting to degrade the gospel from a holy and pure life to a disorderly life, where biblical principles are not valued, which simply want to live lives as a social club where everything is fun but there is no subjection to the Spirit of God and transformation of the soul.
Remember that we can be light in the midst of darkness and make a difference in a world full of evil.

To conclude I want to remind you of the powerful statement of Judas when he says that God is the One who will keep us from falling. Very similar to what Paul says that God will give us together with temptation the way out so that we can endure. It also agrees with John's statement that says that whoever does evil, has not seen God.
