In 2018, I produced a series of episodes about an HIV epidemic in Austin, Indiana. This interlude in that series is my own personal story. It was recorded in a single take, with minimal editing. I was significantly more anxious sharing it this time than I was originally. The upside is it feels so far away, because life is so much better now.

Josh, thank you so much for sharing this. It was by far one of the most moving and poignant pieces I've ever heard (and I listen to podcasts ALL day). Josh, when listening to this I felt a combination of tenderness and admiration at once, realizing it was strange to be feeling both of those things together, it is that much of a rarity. Josh, Thank you so much for sharing your story. I started the podcast kinda of zoning in and out while working and it hit me, Wait!!!! Is this Josh's story? I got a lump in my throat every time I heard the lump in yours. My eyes teared up when I heard them welling up in yours. You are a beautiful soul and I appreciate you telling your story.
