It: Ma quel giorno, ha commesso un errore.
En: But on that day, she made a mistake.

It: "Ping!
En: "Ping!"

It: " un suono metallico echeggiò nell'aria mentre l'oggetto affondava.
En: a metallic sound echoed in the air as the object sank.

It: Luca balzò in piedi, "Nonna!
En: Luca jumped up, "Grandma!

It: Hai buttato il mio telefono!
En: You threw my phone!"

It: " Sofia si bloccò, il volto pallido.
En: Sofia froze, her face pale.

It: Oh no, aveva commesso un grande errore.
En: Oh no, she had made a big mistake.

It: Luca era disperato.
En: Luca was desperate.

En: The phone was new, he had saved money for a whole year to buy it.

It: Non riusciva a crederci.
En: He couldn't believe it.

It: Si fece coraggio e comprò il telefono.
En: She gathered her courage and bought the phone.

En: Sofia regretted making that mistake, but she was glad she had fixed it.

En: Luca was happy again, and so was she.

En: And so, from that day on, Sofia stopped throwing what she thought were toys into the fountain in Piazza San Marco.

En: And Luca, for his part, started smiling again, holding onto his new phone.

It: E nonostante l'incidente, entrambi guardavano indietro quel giorno ridendo.
En: And despite the incident, they both looked back on that day and laughed.

En: In the end, what really matters is that they had helped each other.
