Where are his grounds? He was 1 season in Texas. Before that Ohio St and Iowa St.

the buyout doesn't matter.. a big time school will laugh at that number

South Carolina sucks.. I think a school closer to his recruiting grounds would make sense

South Carolina reached out and he wasn't interested.

He makes $2.8 mill with a $2.5 buyout. Also has a clause about $20 mill in facilities improvement.

I agree with that but if you have seen him interviewed he seems really excited to be at Houston. I am sure it would take a special job for him to leave.

I agree that he is a great coach but has lost recruiting ground that used to be all theirs. ND may end up awful this season and then that win won't be such a big deal.

but if that opens, no doubt he would try to throw his hat in the ring

I just don't think Charlie's seat is as hot as most think.. He's a great coach. Texas looked good in their opener.

Or the Longhorns?

agree that he can do what he wants... but if Texas A&M or LSU open up... he'd be silly

He was contacted for several openings last season and didn't take an interview

I think the Houston coach has a chance to stay. He signed a big extension (I know, it's happened before) and seems really jazzed about being there.

that Houston coach won't be in Houston next season either... he's going to get a lot of offers

he hasn't been able to coach up the QB talent his entire time
