Very interesting and informative, this is the kind of thing I have been looking for for a long time. The actual historical context rather than the usual "taiji manual" version. Dave demonstrates a thorough knowledge and the enthusiasm of you both is clear. A couple of quiibblles " (you were expetiting) No mention of qogong, taijiquan folk like to think their art is based on qigong and they will argue that this is one aspect that does differentiate taiji from "hard" styles, at least. Taijiquan has usually been positioned in opposition to "Shaolin" in terms of Daoist principles as opposed to Buddhist ones, yet no mention of this? This is not a complaint, I I would like to engage with you. I hope you will email me at danhowell2007@hotmail.com. Many thanks.
