On this episode of Beyond The Limit I'm talking with Ryan Von Rueden. Ryan is a high performance strength and conditioning coach specializing in the field of motorsports. He has been in the motorsport performance industry for more than 17 years where he has been fortunate to have worked with drivers that have won all five major American motorsport races. The Indy 500, The 24 Hours of Daytona, The Brickyard 400, The World 600, and The Daytona 500. While supporting elite drivers across multiple disciplines of motorsport, Ryan also serves a select group of high performers who are looking to elevate their daily life experience through enhancing their fitness capacity.
In this conversation with Ryan, we discover how he entered the world of motorsports as a trainer. We talk about the value of elevating skills as a practitioner. How developing his relational capacity helped him earn the trust of championship caliber drivers. We explore the idea of new challenges being presented as gifts to further develop and enhance capacity not only in life but in the arena of your professional development.
Ryan shares how he adapted the basics of exercise science to complement working with drivers from IndyCar, NASCAR, Sprint Cars, and Sports Cars. We get into the specifics of what makes driver athletes. How heart rate and back strength are two vital areas for elite drivers to develop. And we cover the evolution of technology from wearable devices to reaction and reflex training devices to aid not only driver fitness but their neurological fitness as well.
I hope you enjoy this episode with Ryan.
