Habitat for Humanity Bryan/College Station director of homebuyer services Charles Coats and United Way of the Brazos Valley (UWBV) president Alison Prince visit with WTAW's Bill Oliver, September 21, 2020.

Coats says the latest round of Habitat's financial literacy classes involves 25 families learning on ZOOM. That's an increase from eight to 12 families in-person before the pandemic.

Last weekend, Habitat held their first wall-raising of a new home since the start of the pandemic. Two other Habitat homes are in various stages of completion...and construction could start on a fourth home after one of the other three is finished.

At UWBV, Prince says a combined $42,500 dollars in matching grant money for the community campaign has been given by Stylecraft Builders, Schulte Roofing, and Baylor Scott & White.
