In the United States, the name John Justin Bunting and the Snowtown Murders may not be a household name, unlike Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer, and you might even shrug your shoulders, not knowing anything about him or the murders. But if you were in Australia, you’d get a completely different reaction. Bunting, along with his accomplices Robert Wagner, James Vlassakis, and Mark Haydon, tortured and killed at least 11 people during the 1990s in South Australia. The horrific murders would become known as The Snowtown Murders or the Bodies in Barrels murders because of how and where the remains of eight of the victims were found. The reasons for why the killers selected their victims were equally terrifying.
