The College Station historic preservation committee's annual report to the city council included an update on what's happening at the city cemetery.

Committee member Sherry Frisk says they are pursuing a third state historical marker, for the entire property where all the more than 3,700 burial spaces have been spoken for.

There are state markers recognizing two specific areas, the former Shiloh Czech cemetery and the former Salem African-American cemetery.

Frisk also told council members that it's important to continue beautification efforts at the city cemetery.

And she is interested in recognizing the 75th anniversary of the cemetery, which will take place in four years.
