Directed by Kenny Ortega and written by Peter Barsocchini "High School Musical" (2006) is an extremely successful Disney channel original about a popular high school athlete and an academically gifted girl who get roles in their school's musical and develop a friendship that threatens East High's social order that stars Zac Efron, Vannessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, and Corbin Bleu.
