Scott Salwasser is the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of California Football. He is the lead assistant for all strength and conditioning activities exclusive to the Football program. A number of his specific duties include, but are not limited to: leading the linear speed development program which resulted in 80% of athletes' improving their 40 yard dash times during winter training, working primarily with the offensive and defensive skill position players during strength and power development sessions in the weight room, and finally conducting cutting edge movement assessments using state of the art force plate technology to reduce injury risk and improve position specific performance. He specializes in bio-energetic development for up-tempo spread offensive systems such as the Bears' attack. Prior to coming to Cal, Salwasser spent time on the strength and conditioning staffs of the Oakland Raiders, Sparta Performance Science, the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and Sacramento State University. He played football at UC Davis, where he received his Bachelors Degree. He received a Masters Degree in Kinesiology from Sacramento State University, while competing nationally in the sport of Weightlifting. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, among other distinctions.
