My Dad WB9EWF has an antenna rotor that was manufactured by Yaesu which was used for satellite communication which I guess he had for years in the pole barn, but I don’t think he’s ever used the rotor and used it for communicating to amateur radio satellite but that was before AO-92 and so forth. It is possible that hams can contact satellites with antenna rotors that are designed for satellite work since with the design is more angled unlike most hams would use a handheld antenna like an Elk antenna. How is it different back in the back day when satellite was new compare to today?
