  • Singer Songwriter Vacation Loving Al Perez Releases The Single And Video To La Di Da

10 MAY 2024 · Al Perez is a captivating singer/songwriter and soulful performer. His seven-member live band has thrilled audiences for over a decade at festivals, corporate events, and clubs around the USA, Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas, Costa Rica, and Aruba. Perez's releases have received support on numerous playlists, radio, and various outlets (see Press section). Plastic Magazine says, "Al Perez proves why he is considered on of the most captivating singer-songwriter of our time." Soul&Jazz&Funk notes, "Al avoids the inherent saccharine and his declarations of love are the more convincing for that," while Blues In Britain says Perez's music is "sheer joy, well in keeping with similarly sweet soul from the 'love generation' era." Al's releases are available on Warrior Records which he recently promoted as the opening act on Nine Below Zero's 40th Anniversary UK tour. “I Wrote La Di Da about the joys of being on vacation. I’ve been blessed to have traveled to so many tropical destinations; Aruba, Hawaii, US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico, etc.,” said Perez. “Every time I’m out there with friends or meeting new people, they always say (after a few drinks), why can’t we just live here for ever? So, while sitting in a tropical bay with a beautiful woman, I wrote this vacation song. I enlisted the help of a few local Hawaiian musician friends to play on it and we really strived to give it an authentic, smooth island feel.”

  • US Army Ranger Green Beret Joe Kent And And US Army Journalist Marty Skovlund Release Send Me

10 MAY 2024 · The extraordinary story of American special operator and trailblazer Shannon Kent, who hunted high value targets on classified missions in the most dangerous locales on earth while trying to balance her life as a wife and mother. Of the 1.3 million active-duty service members in the US military, only a tiny fraction are selected as "operators." Shannon Kent was one of the first women to serve at this level and was widely recognized as one of the best. Shannon served as a Navy cryptologic technician, responsible for signals intelligence and electronic warfare, but her proficiency with language set her apart. She was assigned to a unit so secretive that its name can't even be printed here, where she worked clandestinely to hunt the most wanted terrorists in the world. Send Me is Shannon's heroic life story, revealing the truth of both her work and the challenges she faced while trying to raise a family with her husband Joe, himself a Special Forces soldier. He and Shannon met in a war zone, their love forged during a special operations training course, their dedication spanning multiple combat deployments and the birth of their two boys. It is the legacy of an extraordinary woman who rose to the apex of the military, working with the most elite forces in the world, lifting the veil from the life of a Special Forces family to share their duty, sacrifice, and humanity. Drawing on their own extensive experience in special operations, Joe Kent and Marty Skovlund Jr. bring Shannon's heroic story to life, while providing a rare peek into the secretive world of special ops intelligence and a glimpse into the complexities of domestic life for a Special Forces family.

  • Astronaut Dr Cady Colemn From The PBS Movie Space The Longest Goodbye

9 MAY 2024 · In the next decade, NASA intends to send astronauts to Mars for the first time. To succeed, crew members must overcome unprecedented life-threatening challenges. And while many of these hazards are physical, the most elusive are psychological. Throughout their three-year absence, crew members won't be able to communicate with Earth in real time due to the immense distance. The psychological impact of this level of disconnectedness and isolation-both from mission control and loved ones-is impossible to predict, endangering the mission itself. Directed to mitigate this threat is Dr. Al Holland, a NASA psychologist whose job is to keep astronauts mentally stable in space. Space: The Longest Goodbye follows Holland, rookie astronauts Kayla Barron and Matthias Maurer, and former astronaut Cady Coleman, among others, as they grapple with the tension between their dream of reaching new frontiers and their basic human need to stay connected to home. This conflict transcends space travel: how do humans balance the quest for progress with a deep connection to history and each other? SPACE: THE LONGEST GOODBYE debuts on PBS's Independent Lens on Monday, May 6th. Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63KKJM4aOtE
