The esoteric revelation of Dr Mikao Usui
Brief History
The story told to us while we learned Reiki was this:
Dr Mikao Usui was a Christian Padre in Japan and used to teach a class on Christian philosophy. He was a sincere believer in the power of Christ and the holy spirit. One day in class a student posed a question that disturbed Dr Usui very deeply. The student wanted to know if he could heal people by touching them just like Jesus, and if he couldn’t what was the use of knowing all this philosophy.
Dr Usui being the sincere human being that he was couldn’t sleep that night, he resolved to find the answer, he began poring through the literature available to him from all mystical philosophies and discovered a description of the chakras and subtle anatomy, the concept of energy vortices in the body that connected humans to divine Shakti or power was very fascinating for him.
Over a period of time he became adept at curing people either by touch or by distance healing.
There are multiple versions of Dr Usui’s story but we now know that he read the mahavirochana sutra and the vajrashekhara sutra and was particularly fond of the short and sweet prajnaparamita hridayam sutra. These are basically translations or adaptations of the many works of Gorakshanath who was the founder of the esoteric Nath school.

This collection consists of explanations and practices from these original teachings.
