2 APR 2016 · At mid 1980's, a promotional campaign called "Rock en tu idioma" (Rock in your language) started helping to internationalize some bands. Soda Stereo is largely credited as the first Spanish-language rock band to gain widespread popularity across Latin America. However, there was equal transnational success in the late 1980s from Enanitos Verdes, Caifanes, Hombres G, or Los Prisioneros among others during the same time period.
