The basic strategies of writing include simple organization with topic sentences that further develop the thesis and are organized in an easy to follow manner, using parallelism, varied sentence structure, and strong verbs. The deeper-level writing strategies focus more on inferential skills that require readers to connect with your messages that speak in metaphor, personification, irony, mood, sarcasm, satire, or other more sophisticated writing that has a sense of style representative of college-level thinking and communication.
