Good morning, East Central Florida boaters! It's time for your coastal waters forecast, bringing you the latest from Flagler Beach all the way down to Jupiter Inlet. I'm here to make sure you're ready to tackle whatever Mother Nature throws your way out on the water.

Today, we're looking at high pressure along the eastern seaboard, which will gradually weaken, leading to decreasing winds and a shift to a more southerly direction by Tuesday and Wednesday. But hold on tight, folks, because an incoming large long period swell will keep conditions poor to hazardous, especially near inlets. So, be prepared and stay safe out there.

For those cruising along the Gulf Stream, expect east winds around 20 knots this morning, decreasing later, with seas between 9 to 11 feet, subsiding to 7 to 9 feet by tonight. Keep an eye out, especially near Ponce Inlet, Port Canaveral, Sebastian Inlet, Fort Pierce Inlet, and Saint Lucie Inlet.

Closer to shore, we have small craft advisories in effect through late Tuesday night. Today, anticipate east winds of 15 to 20 knots, diminishing in the afternoon, with seas ranging from 7 to 9 feet and occasionally reaching 11 feet. By Tuesday and Wednesday, expect southeasterly winds between 10 to 15 knots and seas gradually subsiding.

As we head towards mid-week, a cold front will be making its way towards us, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday. So, keep an eye on the changing conditions as the front pushes across our local waters on Thursday.
