Well, howdy there, East Central Florida water wanderers! It's time for your coastal waters forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service. I'm here to give you the lowdown on what's happening out on the open seas from Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet out to 60 nautical miles.

Today, we're seeing a bit of a weather rollercoaster ride. We've got low pressure making moves from the Gulf coast, swinging through the Deep South and heading off towards the Carolina coast. But here's the kicker - a cold front is tagging along, set to sweep south across our waters come Sunday. Hang tight, 'cause hazardous boating conditions are on the horizon, with a brief spell of Gale conditions possible offshore this afternoon and into tonight. And you know what they say, behind every front is a strong and gusty north wind, so be ready for that by early Sunday.

Now, let's break it down for Flagler Beach to the Volusia-Brevard County Line within 20 nautical miles. We've got a Small Craft Advisory waving at us through late tonight. Southeast winds are revving up near 20 knots and getting gusty. Seas are building up to 4 to 6 feet, occasionally reaching 7 feet. Showers are likely with a side of thunderstorms in the morning, then just a chance of showers as the day progresses.

As we sail into Saturday, expect a shift to southwest winds at 10 to 15 knots. Seas calming down to 3 to 5 feet, occasional 6-footers. Moderate chop on intracoastal waters, with a chance of showers in the morning and a sprinkle of thunderstorms. A slight chance of showers lingers in the afternoon as the weekend vibe rolls on.

And for you night owls, Saturday night brings on some west winds at 10 to 15 knots, switching to a northwesterly direction after midnight. Seas building to 5 to 7 feet, with glimpses of 9-footers possibly showing up, making for rough waters. Don't forget your rain gear as there's a chance of showers all night long.
