On this week's show, host Phil Tower speaks with
Charlie Tyson, Technology Activation Director, with the Office of Future Mobility and Electrification. The state of Michigan recently committed more than half of $1 million to decarbonize its waterways through a
Fresh Coast Maritime Challenge Grant Program. Six companies will receive $506,000 in total grant funding to establish what will become an evolving network of shore-side charging facilities for clean-fueled marine vessels and electric passenger vehicles operating on the Great Lakes. This first-of-its-kind program supports e-boat and charging deployments at marinas across Northwest Michigan.

MI Fresh Coast Maritime Challenge Grant ProgramIn part two of this week's program, Phil welcomes
Craig Rich, a director of The Michigan Shipwreck Research Association. Craig is a 45-year veteran Great Lakes master SCUBA diver, historian, and author. In early August, members of the Michigan Shipwreck Research Association announced that they had located a vessel about halfway through Lake Michigan several miles from the West Michigan shoreline. Members of the Michigan Shipwreck Research Association said they located the vessel in deep waters, far offshore, using specially adapted side scan sonar. They suspect it’s a ship they’ve been looking for for the last two years.
