She goes into detail about the differences between bioidentical and synthetic hormones. While bioidentical hormones are the same chemical structure and shape as the hormones the body makes, meaning they fit into all the receptors and do what they are supposed to do, synthetic hormones have a slight change in structure so they can be patented, which means they do not function the same as natural hormones. She also discusses why diet and sleep are central parts of keeping your hormones balanced. It is important to keep cortisol balanced because when it's not it can lead to other hormones being unbalanced such as estrogen and progesterone. Dr. Stanton covers other topics such as andropause, the different types of testing used to determine hormone imbalances, and about specific hormones such as estrogen and progesterone.
