As England’s football fans recovered from their win in the Euros at Wembley last week, the Commonwealth Games took center stage in Birmingham with a thrilling week of competition. Elsewhere, Ultra-runner Kate Jayden set a marathon record with a broken knee. In rugby DMP Sharks may have to withdraw from Premier 15s due to under-funding. And the World Championships in dressage, para-dressage, vaulting and show jumping are underway in Herning, Denmark with the home team beating out favorites Great Britain and Germany to take the team dressage gold medal.
