Fr. Jim Myers, S.S., joins Dr. Mary Anne Urlakis as her guest on Episode 16 of “Vows, Vocations, and Promises: Discerning the Call of Love,” to discuss the upcoming Fifteenth Institute for Seminary Formators, scheduled from June 9-16, 2021 at Theological College in Washington, D.C.

Fr. Myers is Sulpician priest from the Diocese of Peoria, Illinois who was ordained to the ministerial priesthood in 1980 and entered the Society of St. Sulpice in 1991. In the Diocese of Peoria, Fr. Jim has served as Parochial Vicar, Director of the Newman’s Center at Bradley University, and as Pastor of St. Boniface Church. As a Sulpician, Fr. Myers has served as the Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish in San Francisco and as the Director of the Vatican II Institute for Clergy Formation in Menlo Park, California. Fr. Myers currently serves in the ministry of priestly formation within the Archdiocese of San Antonio, with responsibilities as the Director of Spiritual Formation at Assumption Seminary and as the Consultant for Ongoing Formation for the Office of the Vicar of Clergy.

Fr. Myers is also a consultant on the Sulpician Provincial Council and is a member of the board of the National Organization for the Continuing Education for the Roman Catholic Church (NOCERCC), as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the Seminary Department of the National Catholic Education Association. Additionally, Fr. Jim is the Director of the Mantle of Elijah Project- a program which prepares priests to serve as mentors for newly ordained priests, first-time pastors, and priests new to the United States. Fr. Myers brings his wealth of expertise in priestly formation to his role as the Director of the Sulpician Institute for Seminary Formators- the semi-annual conference designed for those who have recently undertaken full-time work in seminary formation.

In Episode 16 Fr. Myers shares his wisdom and experience while discussing the intensive preparation provided at the eight-day Institute for Seminary Formators with Dr. Mary Anne Urlakis.
