(Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Commentary) "Hardly anything in this upside-down world comes out the way it should. Life isn't always fair! The Good Man isn't always remembered. Wise words are often ignored while foolishness is given the blue ribbon." (David Jeremiah) It's always better to act wisely, But as oftentimes is the case, wisdom does not ostensibly pay off - due to the wickedness of foolish people. However, we should still act wisely and not be discouraged - for there is a God in Heaven Who is overseeing the world and acknowledging the good that we do.
