"In the picture - Shifting perspectives in fashion photography" is an exhibition curated by Alexandra von Fuerst, Camila Falquez, Nadine Ijewere and Ruth Ossai for Photo Vogue Festival 2020. They are all “contemporary socially conscious fashion photographers”. They belong to a new generation of artists whose aesthetics are a hybrid of genres, and are themselves a driving force for change. Their work engages in a dialogue with visual arts and journalism, as well as with an assimilated desire to balance out the various levels of representation. The work of Camila, Nadine, Alexandra and Ruth avoids being didactic whilst touching on issues of gender, race, and womanhood, and is simultaneously glamorous, vibrant and powerful. For this exhibition, Photo Vogue Festival 2020 gives space to their vision, initiating a four-way dialogue where the artists are also curators. Voice Antony Bowden, curated by Elisa Pervinca Bellini.
