In this episode Kurt talks with Dr. Adam Harwood on the spiritual condition of infants. Do babies have sin in their lives and are they guilty of sin? Listen in as they explore some tricky topics.
Is physical death the punishment for sin? If a person has no sin for which he is guilty, he ought not die physically. It's not personal guilt but the tradition to which John Murray Blocks represented in the Westminster confession of faith.
That text and Samual is completely different in its context. It's not a valid parallel. I'm talking about an infant who dies in utero or in other in another fashion.
The empirical proof that the spiritual condition of infants is total depravity is evidenced in that infant mortality exists. The wages of sin is death. If a person dies, that person has accrued guilt because death is the judgment on sin.
Guilt and righteousness are correlaries. In the same way righteousness/justification is ours in Christ, guilt is ours in Adam. How can I have or be righteous when I'm not?
